    In Canada, cellphone networks may not charge fees for carrier-unlocking handsets nor sell phones locked to a specific network. 

    There are additional protections for plan owners on a family plan as well where they must give approval before racking up additional charges. 

    Free Trial Periods

    Free Trial Periods last 15 days, this allows someone to return a device in new or like-new condition as long as no more than half of a months data has been used.
